Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an Best item upgrade. Based on the type of upgrade, it can boost the rarity of an item or mark Level, and also boost other stats.

There are many theories about how the item level is determined. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula that calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in the sockets increase the item's value. This can lead to an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

Item Stats

Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll attachments, or pick which stats to boost. As with base equipment, it will have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison will not show all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the probability of obtaining items and the properties that are created by loot and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is particularly useful for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance which increases with each level and can be further increased by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, shields, and armor can spawn or be crafted using the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the luck of the item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage of any skill that deals damage by 5%. These items can be bought in the shop, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are costly and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.

The rate of success of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of completing the upgrade successfully, and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased by so much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail can't be greater than 100%..

The performance of an upgrades is also influenced by the Luck of that item. Every item has an overall success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This could cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
