7 Things You Never Knew About Item Upgrade
Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades
Upgrades can boost the power of a piece of equipment and at times even add additional features. The value of these upgrades is determined by the levels of gear, their requirements and how many random augmentations can be applied.
For instance, the top shield of racial violence Razortail is commonly upgraded for its lightning absorb function in PvP or to add additional defenses on missile based builds in PvM. This makes it more tradable than the perfect non-upgraded version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens are a way to reroll an item you have acquired like armor, weapon, or ring. This replaces the item with another of the same kind and comes with different bonuses. Reroll tokens can be a cost-effective method of upgrading gear. However, they don't retain the quality of the original item, and any wasted resources won't be compensated for.
The survivors can get Reroll tokens in a variety of ways, including through the Mistery Box and rare drops from skulled creatures. You can also find them in crates and chests or buy them at the market for $150 each. Reroll tokens can be used to change an attribute of the equipment that could include increasing its damage or granting it a new stat.
Players can roll their equipment into three aspects: physical power, magic power and health. Upgrades to physical power can increase damage from weapons and melee attack and spell power upgrade mage attacks and the ring. Health upgrades provide the player with an extra health.
There are three types of Reroll tokens: upgrade rare and legendary. Each of these upgrades an item to a higher quality, with the requirement of an upgraded reroll token in order to make it. Upgrades require a standard item. Rare upgrades require an item that is exclusive or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.
The marker that rerolls, unlike markers or tokens placed on action areas, remains on the space until the next Success is rerolled. This helps to prevent the waste of upgrades.
Blueprints are envelopes which appear at the beginning of each Preparation phase. They can be opened with Interact by grabbing on to them. When they are opened they show a complete description and the icon of the corresponding Appliance or Ingredient. Blueprints can be exchanged for new appliance or ingredient in the restaurant's shop for the amount of coins.
In the course of an event, blueprints may be moved between the Staple Pool and the Non-staple pool due to the choice of Franchise Cards. This alters which blueprints the restaurant's shop sells for rerolls and which are available in the Non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to improve armor, weapons and other items. These are special stones that can increase an item's level by increasing its stats and abilities. Players can locate these items by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs located in the main towns. Contract Coin Merchants will sell them for a fee. They are also available to players who have completed daily contracts.
To upgrade their gear, players must first locate the appropriate item and then click on the "level up" button. This will display a menu that shows the item's current status and what it will be when being upgraded, along with the required amount of Growth Stones to do so. The amount of Growth Stones required to upgrade the gear will depend on its rarity. Most often rare (blue) weapons require more than one green Growth Stone to reach their next level, whereas rare armor requires only one blue or green Growth Stone.
After selecting the item to upgrade the user must choose the number of Growth Stones that they want to use and pay the cost. When the requirements are satisfied, the user can then click the upgrade button to apply the Growth Stones to the item. The item will be upgraded in level by a specific percentage. The upgrade process can last between a few seconds and minutes, based on the rarity of the item.
The upgrade process is risk-free and will not affect the item's longevity. This makes the system an ideal way for players to gain a significant advantage in combat without putting stress on their bank accounts. Furthermore players can transfer experience and progress of an upgraded item upgrader kit to a new item by clicking the "transfer" tab.
For new players, it can be difficult to obtain Growth Stones. There are several ways to acquire these stones. You can complete contracts and purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants, defeat Abyssal Contracts, obtain them from the Equipment Stone Seal Book or find them in reward chests during the Ancient Arena Season. Players can also break down higher-level Growth Stones into multiple lower-level stones.
Leveling
Leveling is an option that lets you increase the effectiveness of weapons and armor. You can also upgrade trinkets and helms. The Upgrade Station allows you to combine an item with upgrade materials and then pay a fee in Happy Tickets or Happy Stars. The process will consume the upgrade materials and grant the item an upgrade level, giving the Best item upgrader an additional boost in that particular area. This process can be repeated until the highest level of an item is attained.
Items with upgraded stats will have a blue icon beside their slot. Upgrade components, unlike enchantments can't be added to more than one item at the same time. Each upgrade component also requires an amount of items as well as a certain level of equipment.
The Upgrade Station has two slots: the first is where players can put in an item that they wish to upgrade, and the right shows a preview of what the equipment will look like once it is at its next level. When the player has enough items and has pressed the yellow arrow will begin the upgrade process.
An item upgrader kit of equipment can be upgraded up to five times. Each time the item is upgraded, its stats will increase by a small percentage. The maximum level for an item is 19.
When an item reaches its maximum level, its upgrades are no longer available for it. Also, when an item is on an upgrade track (e.g. Veteran or Explorer) upgrades for the track will be offered at discounted prices.
Upgrade components are a form of equipment that can be inserted into armor, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools to provide an additional bonus or effect when the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, looted, or obtained through questing. They can also be traded between players. Upgrade components can be replaced with new ones, however doing so could destroy the previous upgrade, except for glyphs, which can be removed and replaced at will.
Requirements
The upgrades to items allow players the ability to increase certain stats of weapons and armor that they currently have equipped. The requirements for upgrading an item will vary depending on its type however, you'll generally require Dilithium along with an amount of Upgrade tokens.
The upgrade items (click here to find out more) can be incorporated into equipment sets and weapons for extra effects or a higher quality item. These upgrades can come from many sources, including crafting, buying from the Trading Post, karma vendors or looting from bosses and raids. Once an upgrade component has been placed into an object, it is not able to be removed or replaced. However the glyphs can be swapped freely.
Upgrades can increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity. Some upgrade components come with additional modifiers that can increase the stats of the item.
The helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" For example, increases base defense and provides an additional 20% chance to block. Additionally the dps upgrade "Wildfire" boosts weapon damage.
Some items benefit from upgrading not so much for their improved stats, but more because it allows players to get the maximum amount of value from a perfect roll on the item. A perfectly rolled 200/6500 armor set piece, for example is highly coveted by melee PvP communities and could be worth up to 20-50 times that of the unupp'd version.
The game will display the requirements when you select the upgrade component that goes into the item. These include the type of item (either weapon or armor) the tier of the item as well as the upgrade Token needed, and the amount of progress needed to complete the upgrade.
If you've fulfilled the requirements for upgrading the game will put the item in your inventory, and the progress bar will be updated to indicate how close to completing it. You can also track the status of an upgrade by visiting any NPC that upgrades items.
