World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items can be used to boost the stats of a particular item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it can increase the rarity of an item or mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a specific amount.

item level upgrade Level

When an item is upgraded, its base stats improve in value. The value is the sum of all the upgraded benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high, depending on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to perform. This is due to how many perks must be replaced to allow the Best item upgrader to be upgraded.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It also serves as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is restricted to a lower level). Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell equipment players can evaluate the levels of the item. It's a sign of the damage and its quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor can be done using the level of the item.

The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are a few theories on how the item level calculation is made. One theory says that the level of an item is calculated using a formula that calculates the value of the stats of an item really are. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth and gems in sockets add to the item's overall value. This process can result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl, which is usually quite close to the actual Blizzard level of the item.

This is not the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item. The level of the area where the item dropped can also alter its stats. For instance it can increase the item's haste or crit score. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The item's stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats of a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat mods, which are themselves enhanced by the player's level.

Item upgrades add to that by increasing certain stats on the item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item for instance, will only be upgraded once however, items with rare tiers may be upgraded several times at more expensive costs.

Affixes are another way to change an item upgrading's stats. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. Affixes can do things like give the item extra damage, add a special capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down the cooldowns) or make the item unique by putting a special name to the item.

All affixes can be currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However each item will have at least one stat within the range, unless they are an exclusive item or the item is a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could change is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the attaches, or select which stats to boost. But as with base equipment, this would have to be carried out on a per-item basis, and the interface for comparing items wouldn't show all possible stats either lost or gained at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the chances of item discoveries as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the strength of the properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player a chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game and is therefore more useful in the early game than later ones since most players prefer greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains.

Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increase with each item level. They can also be enhanced by using anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be created or spawned using the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the luck of an item upgrader kit - Full Content -, up to 140.

Furthermore there are certain items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow can be used to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items are available in the shop, or they can be crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item level upgrade if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

The rate of success of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The probability of success can only be increased by so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%.

The luck of an item can also influence the success of an upgrade. All items have an overall success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

The upgrade overlays of the item are displayed above items in the inventory. This may obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
