The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the likelihood of finding items and the properties that are spawned from loot drops, and the intensity of those properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. Moreover, certain items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow can be used to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be bought from the shop or made using the correct ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items can be costly and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their chance of success or stop them from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. The Luck of an item may influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. All items have a base success rate of 25% and each item with Luck increases that chance by an additional five percent.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
