WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for the latter because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the Item level upgrade will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item upgrader kit and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of getting a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items that are being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via various methods, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This applies regardless of whether the items are from a different set of equipment.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut too, but it is only available after certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you should know that Crests are only available to gear of a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade items path. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, contingent on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing content at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.

Using these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important modification is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them properly. It's Best item upgrade to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
