Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its stats base or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Typically, items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, while objects with strong bases, such as Eth titans don't change much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, or found as loot gathered by enemies or received from chests or missions. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they are upgraded.

In order to upgrade item an item of armor, the user must select it, and then click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade statistics will be and also the necessary component or material needed to make that happen.

There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be placed in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions, which can only be placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of the item's name. For example adding the suffix Glyph would make the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph by another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, except for inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now categorised in tracks and each item is able to be upgraded so many times before it's "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials required do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a couple of key items and maximize their impact instead of spreading cost of upgrades across several pieces.

This will allow the item to receive new upgrade components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan’s Energy and it resets at 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to receive affixes that will boost its attributes. The number of affixes available is contingent on the item's base. For instance, a rare or unique weapon that has a standard base will have no more than two affixes for it, while legendary armors will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade step requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level and what slot it is placed in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item doesn't attain its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the choice to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. The process can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of material, though it will have less chance of success.

To measure the height of a structure engineers utilize an instrument to compare the measurement against a known reference point like a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and level before turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that buildings are constructed to an extremely high level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is an essential aspect of the game, and it can increase the strength, damage, or other attributes. This can be done via the item menu or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item upgrader. Rerolling can be costly and should only be done in the rarest of circumstances.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or an item upgrader mod of the same type. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the amount of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.

Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes which made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you could be able to get the stats that were important most to your build often than other. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each statistic. This can be a great or a bad thing, depending on your requirements and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also come with a bonus that increases the item's power by a specific percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are offered over the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the greater chances of obtaining the bonus of your choice.

The game also features a number of sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on an item. This is an excellent way to add a lot of power to a particular character without spending an excessive amount of money.

Many players choose to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the early stages of the game. Rerolling can help you gain a stronger character faster, which allows you to advance in the game and attain higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be put together in different ways. They can have different dimensions, contain no elements at all or contain a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or sort information. They are also useful in studying patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, including size and shape.

There are a variety of set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Armor sets with high defense values or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in boosting stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you already have a lot of weapons or armor pieces already.

Certain set items are upgraded to meet their own unique functions which can be beneficial in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).

Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items up to par with the different tiers. For instance, the Immortal King set has a large level range, between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower-level items can enhance their defense, and increase their competitiveness when it comes to damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item as well as the items required to upgrade it. It will show the item's characteristics, as well as the items needed to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

Generally speaking generally speaking, jewelry and weapons offer greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with spell/weapon damage glyphs, upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will give a substantial increase in their performance. It will also boost the defense value of armor that has an updated appearance.
