Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear by adding new affixes that boost the base stats of the item level upgrade or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Typically objects with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, whereas items with strong bases like eth titans do not vary in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They provide an attribute bonus, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as a reward from missions or chests. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they are upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be as well as the necessary component or material needed to make that happen.

There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type limitation. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment, are the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of the item's name. For instance, adding a Glyph would make the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs by a different one the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions that are able to be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant differences from the previous versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks, and each item can only be upgraded a certain number of times before it's "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials required do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of those items, rather than spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

This allows the item to receive new upgrade components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It will reset at 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece is upgraded to its maximum level, it can receive an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available depends on the item's base type. For instance an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level and in what slot it is in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item fails to reach its max level The NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. The process can take as long as two hours and costs the same amount of material however it will result in a lower chance of success.

Engineers use a level in order to compare the height of the building with an established location, such as a benchmark. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to the highest level of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item level upgrade. It is a crucial aspect of the game that can boost an item's damage, strength, or other attributes. This can be done through the item menu or clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be done in the rarest of circumstances.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a comparable item. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the level of upgrade. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level filled.

Prior to this, some upgrades were given priority affixes which made them easier to roll. This meant that you would be able to get the stats that were important most to your build more often than other items. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns, and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each statistic. This can be a great or bad thing dependent on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special, fixed-value bonus that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added into the usual affixes. The more you upgrade item a product, the greater your chances of receiving an exclusive bonus.

The game also includes a number of sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on the same unit. This is a great way to add a lot of power to a character without spending an excessive amount of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. This is because rerolling could offer a quicker path to a powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and advance in the game more quickly.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be organized in various ways. They can have various sizes, have no elements at all, or contain just one element. They can be utilized to organize data or sort information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including size and shape.

There are a variety of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Armor sets with high defense or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in improving stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade when your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already large.

Set items can be upgraded to include unique tools that are suitable for certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to parity with their levels. For instance, the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item and the required items to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its features, as well as the items needed to upgrade it. For example, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternately, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the requirements for upgrading specific items.

In general, armor and weapons are more valuable when fully updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs for spells or weapons, upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will result in a significant increase in their power. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
