Item Upgrading Is The Next Hot Thing In Item Upgrading
World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.
For instance an item with the upgrade template ending in % will gain 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level increases.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before a component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade items, thereby changing the name of the item it's applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using less upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level using standard methods.
A 'boost upgrade' can alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals per.
The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of how much it will improve after a future reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be expensive, and it is possible that the item will be obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also offer an additional bonus when reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels whenever you can.
In the final game you'll often discover that the best way to enhance your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.
Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed by using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a particular range of values can enhance a stat by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
When you have the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.
The use of Glyphs Glyph can boost all nodes connected to it, so it is recommended to position your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids, for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their primary damage nodes.
Leveling
The item upgrading system allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components inside them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to reach, and the upgrade costs increase as the item upgrader mod gets leveled up.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each upgrade items Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When the player improves the equipment they have, the base item will be replaced by the new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback in that the item could be more expensive even if you don't need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This is a good idea, but shouldn't be done often as it can be a waste of resources.
Some upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). This item can be upgraded multiple times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is very important in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of its non-upgraded version.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon items will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to return to its original state and the player having to pay for more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item isn't upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, and all additional effects associated with the effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is computed each time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to the value of the base item. For instance, a common item upgrader kit might have five upgrades for a price of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.
Premium items may have different upgrade requirements than regular gear. For instance they may require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. The player will need to carry every piece of equipment they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each upgrade will require a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
