The item upgrade lets players increase the gear rating of an item up 700 points, and then add a bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For example an excellently broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and aren't worth it.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition there are many weapons with a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon are present on a single unit. This bonus can sometimes exceed the damage a weapon upgrade alone can do.

A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For example an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue rise until it requires the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.

Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is generally a positive factor, but it could also have negative effects. For items that only see use in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance), upgrading them may render them unusable unless you have an extremely lucky roll.

It is possible to upgrade armor items to increase their performance. In the case of a helm or chest, this will increase its defense base while a belt and gloves will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may roll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain after upgrading, along with the relative values of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button on the item menu with the arrows that circle. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.

Armor

A few armor upgrades can make the world of difference to your survival. Certain sets offer massive boosts to poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which can make traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the more defense you have for your character, the greater health you'll gain from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.

To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four fountains in all, and each requires you to complete a specific side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest and the associated fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. In general, you're looking at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent upgrade. The Champion Leathers, as an example can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which allows you to remain competitive in cold environments with a large group of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded to +20 defense, which means you're able to survive a battle with your comrades.

Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll have to focus on upgrading it for physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still wear at the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades for the chest armor and helmets so that you can escape some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the player, provide an immediate effect for a short period of time. There are five types of potions, each with a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to enhance their level of effectiveness. Alternatively the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.

Potion upgrades cost a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by crafting them using a craft table or in the chest of the Alchemist. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion and the item level upgrade's rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI that lets you select the potions that you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they will give you when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP level.

Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not degrade until you use it again or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change the name of the potion.

There were a few updates to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For example splash potions now have a duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display of the item). The potion table can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. Also, putting a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the potion and refills the bottle.

Finally, there are lingering potions that are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. In the same way, a lingering potion effect can be extended by adding redstone. The table of potion ingredients is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping and the potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket can be described as a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to a small ornament or object that serves a function but isn't important such as a Thimble. In certain traditions, trinkets are used to symbolize friendship or affection, especially between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their stats.

The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.

Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new trinket. A player can upgrade items a trinket with as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same level of base as the previous trinket however, it will also come with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.

Once the old Trinkets have become no longer useful, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value over time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.

Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are first upgraded, followed by their secondary gear and other equipment that they won't replace anytime soon (such as a ring or an cloak). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when selecting the items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm and shoulders.

When they are no longer useful trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade is likely to destroy the old trinket, unless it is salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
