What Freud Can Teach Us About Item Upgrading

The upgrade option allows players to boost the gear rating of an item upgrade by up to 700 points and add a bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded to benefit from their unique stats (like perfect broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. They also have a flat bonus that increases their damage per second. Additionally there are many weapons with a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon is present on a unit. This bonus may exceed the damage that a weapon upgrade can do on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity as well as its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.

Upgrades to weapons also reroll the stats of the base. While this is usually a good thing, it can have some negative consequences as well. For items that are only used in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them can render them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.

Items of armor can also be upgraded to improve their performance. This will increase the base defense of a helm or chest as well as belts and gloves. These will boost their required strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it may reroll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain upon upgrading, as well as the values of these stats. This means that a weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button within the item upgrader menu using the arrows that circle. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon's levels or tie it to the account status.

Armor

Making a few improvements to your armor could make a a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets provide massive boosts to poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which makes traversing tough areas a breeze. The more defense your character is, the more value you will get from every point of health you possess, so it's important to improve your armor as often as you can.

To upgrade your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four of them and each one requires you to complete a unique side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main side quest and mastered the fountain that corresponds you'll be able to contact any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which allows you to remain competitive in frigid environments with a large group of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded as high as +20 defense to ensure you're able to survive a battle with your comrades.

You can't upgrade armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or spell power. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss fight and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also unlock some perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. In general, you should keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is useful to have a few improvements to the chest armor and helmets that let you stealthy battle some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, provide an immediate effect. There are five types of potions, each having specific effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, enhancing their effectiveness. Alternatively, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to the potions.

Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. These can be earned by making them on a table or in an chest of the Alchemist. However, the upgrade price will vary based on the type of potion you want to upgrade, as well as on the item upgrader mod's Mark Level and rarity.

To upgrade a potion, right-click it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI which allows you to select the potion you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.

Once a potion has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to rename it.

There were a few changes to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for example have now a duration of zero, not the 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item. The table for potion can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be used in cauldrons. The same applies to using a potion within a cauldron that is full. This will deplete the potion, and refill the bottle.

Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are made with splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone is also added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The table of potions has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, such as the potion of leaping and decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket is a small and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to a small ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't important, like a Thimble. In certain traditions, trinkets are used to signify friendship or affection, especially between family members.

Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons, armor, and potions. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades (check out the post right here) trinkets are able to be traded out at any time without losing their status.

The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.

Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a brand new trinket. A player can upgrade their trinket for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same level of base as the previous trinket but will also have an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

Once the old Trinkets have become no longer useful they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players and are a popular alternative to gold.

In general players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are first upgraded, followed by their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment they won't be replacing in the near future (such as rings or cloaks). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when choosing which items to upgrade. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should prioritize upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and helm.

When they are no longer useful trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket comes with an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will destroy the old trinket in the event that it is not saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than buying a new one.
